Rural Youth Europe
Established in 1957, Rural Youth Europe is an umbrella organisation for groups that support young people across the continent. The NGO provides training for its members and works as an intermediary between national organisations, youth organisations, and public institutions. Rural Youth Europe also organises events and publishes policy papers, and is democratically led by its members.
The old logo for Rural Youth Europe did not represent the organisation effectively and lacked the authority it needed when seen alongside other NGOs. The new identity needed to express the concept of an umbrella organisation with links to other groups across Europe.
The idea of growth as an outcome of training has a clear link with the organisation’s rural audience, and using geometric shapes with repeated elements conveys authority and seriousness. Lining up the three 'Us' in the name provided an opportunity to integrate a symbol within the word mark, resulting in a unique logo design.
